You can get on the internet. You can ask a friend. Trends come and go in cooking. But essentially, jam recipes remain same…
• Pick, buy or be given the fruit
• Add sugar at some stage
• Bring to the boil
• Boil for just the right length of time
• Bottle it (which means pour into jars)
• Seal jars and label
The secret is….just keep on doing it….until you get in right…happy cooking.
Wendy’s Blackberry Jam Recipe
Ingredients:
- 600g blackberries
- juice of 2 lemons
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
Method:
- Put fruit in pan with lemon juice. Cook, mashing with a wooden spoon and stirring until thepilp boils. Boil 5 minutes
- Add sugar, stir until dissolved, then bring jam to boiling point again. Cook rapidly for 5 minutes
- Cool slightly, bottle, cover and label.
