Wendy’s Jams – COVID safe arrangements
Wendy is committed to the well being of her family, friends and customers. This has been particularly evident in her food hygiene arrangements for many years. COVID-19 in Australia and around the world has heightened the importance of food handling practices and person to person interactions. Food markets in New South Wales are open for business with precautions in place to protect customers and suppliers of goods. Wendy has upgraded arrangements for production and selling of the Wendy’s Crafts range of jam, marmalade and relish. Products are back in selected markets as well as being available in the simplified online store.

COVID-19 Precautions at Produce Markets
Reducing the transmission risk of the COVID-19 virus is uppermost for all of us. The second wave of transmission in Victoria is a timely reminder. The biggest changes that Wendy has made to her Market stall is the temporary alteration of taste testing and reduced handling of the jars on the stall. Wendy will be on hand to help you in any way possible. The precautions in place for the foreseeable future are:
- Hand sanitiser available for customers
- Separate hand sanitiser for Wendy’s use
- No taste testing – no spoons, no open jars
- Signs – reminders about keeping the 1.5 m distancing and please do not touch the jars, please ask
- Ground Markings – encouragement of where to stand when visiting the stall
- Stall separation – this is particularly important for the Sutherland and Wollongong markets
- Masks – Wendy has masks on hand if there is a recommendation for people to wear masks in New South Wales
- Wellness – Wendy will not attend any market if showing the possible early symptoms of COVID -19 (running nose, cough, intermittent fever, difficulty with breathing
Benefits of Wendy’s Jams
The pandemic has changed the way we spend our money. International holidays are off the list for a while, as is interstate travel just at the moment. We are generally spending less on dining out, entertainment and clothing. Thankfully we still have access to beautiful produce of third generation jam maker, Wendy, and the recipes handed down from her grandmother. We are spending more time at home with our families, more meals are being prepared and the need for feel-good, quality and variety of meals and snacks is more important than ever. This is the ideal time to be using Jam made from fresh fruit, using Marmalade from in season navel oranges and Homemade Tomato Relish to make that pie or quiche a bit more interesting and special. Join the rest of Wendy’s customers and rediscover Jam, Marmalade and Relish the way it used to be! What Jams have you forgotten the taste of? Full list of Wendy’s Jams here. Essential Jams Online here
